Photon: Red Light Therapy-Everything You Need To Know

Red light therapy is a UV-free light therapy which we usually simply call it as photon therapy has  a variety of names such as:

*Low-level/Low-power Laser (Light) Therapy (LLLT or LPLT)

*Photonic Stimulation

*Photo-Biomodulation(PBM)

*Photo-Biotherapy

*Soft Laser Therapy

*Cold Laser Therapy

Why Red Light is Used for Body Skin Therapy?

According to NASA reports over 40 years ago and recent clinical trials

studies, red light has positive results for skin rejuvenation & beautification, collagen production, physical performance & muscle recovery, sleep, joint pain, inflammation, and so on.

Because it has no significant side effects(nontoxic, noninvasive, and considered safe for all skin types

) to body, it is widely used in the hospital, Beauty Salons, Therapy Centers, Spa, Relax Studio, Home, etc for improving circulation, healing wounds and skin problems.

How Does Red Light Therapy Work?

Light energy of a specific wavelength upregulates damaged cells when absorbed correctly. Low-Level Laser Light (photons) can be absorbed by light receptors in the mitochondria and used to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The ATP produced then stimulates various metabolic processes that can lead to the repair and regeneration of cellular and tissue components.

The Wavelengths of Red Light Therapy?

The 660nm Wavelength (Visible Red Light)

Over the past 40+ years, the scientists’ researches has proved that red led light at 660nm wavelength is the most effective for healing wounds, skin rejuvenation and beautification.

This is because healthy cells emit wavelengths between 600nm and 725nm, while unhealthy cells emit shorter wavelength. 660nm wavelength is of the most resonant frequency to the human cell and skin health. Thus, 660nm led light is able to penetrate tissues significantly to upper most layers of the skin to improve circulation, increase collagen production, healing and cells regeneration.

The 850nm Wavelength (Invisible Near-infrared Light)

850nm Wavelength is an invisible near-infrared light to the naked eyes. It doesn’t mean they don’t work or have no therapeutic potential when you can’t see the light. Instead, it can penetrate deeper into body tissues

like wounds, joint, or muscle pain.

Red light therapy devices that combine both red light and near-infrared light offer potent healing potential because they incorporate a range of therapeutic wavelengths.

Key Benefits

*Fatigue Reducing

*Inflammation Reducing

*Bone Healing Improvement

*Accelerated wound healing

*Pain Relief

*Swelling Following Injury Reducing

*Skin Condition and Health Improvement

How Often to Use Your Red Light Therapy Device?

There are no strict rules, but starting slowly is generally recommended.

You could start with shorter red light therapy sessions of just a few minutes a day, gradually working up to 10- to 20- minute sessions 3-5 times a week. For symptomatic areas, 15-20 minutes may be beneficial, but beyond that, As with everything, “more” isn’t necessarily “better.” (your cells can only absorb so much light at a time).

For general maintenance and health once or twice a week is acceptable.

Be sure to consult your doctor or health-care provider before starting red light therapy, especially if you are pregnant or treating any chronic conditions, your eyes, or other very sensitive parts of the body.
